BioeconomyVentures

Raising disruptive bioeconomy ventures, start-ups and spin-offs to the top.

This project will build a reference platform for bioeconomy-based start-ups and spinoffs seeking to gain access to finance, becoming the main meeting point in the European bioeconomy. Aligned with the European Bioeconomy Strategy (2018) and the vision and strategy of the Bio-based Industries Consortium (BIC), our solution is based on a threefold approach:

1) Building and leveraging the first of its kind bioeconomy entrepreneurship ecosystem (via the BioeconomyVentures Ambassadors Programme);

2) Creating and validating an assessment methodology for qualifying and quantifying the needs of the start-ups and spin-offs (via the BioeconomyVentures Evaluation Matrix); and

3) Designing, developing and executing an interactive one-stop-shop- platform, bringing together relevant stakeholder groups (start-ups, spinoffs, investors and corporates).

Project Main Objectives:
  • To identify, deliver, and grow an interconnected European NETWORK
  • To scope for & recruit over 200 ENTREPRENEURS, START-UPS AND SPIN-OFFS to quantify their need for specific financial & business needs
  • To incentivize the investment community to engage with bio-based industry and secure one-on-one meetings with experts
  • Design, develop & execute interactive PLATFORM
  • To ensure long-term SUSTAINABILITY of the network with a replicable and scalable business model for the ADVENTURE ecosystem
Project Vision:
  • Increase the success rate of excellent start-ups and spin-offs
  • Improve the alignment of available financing/funding instruments with the demand of start-ups and spin-offs
  • Accelerate the market entrance of new technologies, processes, products and applications for expanding the bio-based industry across Europe.
