Through reading the book “Sonnen-Strategie, Politik ohne Alternative” by Hermann Scheer back in the year 2000, Martha has become a passionate advocate for the energy transition. Fascinated about the numerous solutions to global problems a transition to renewable energy entails, she decided to study “Renewable Energy and Environmental Management”. While working for over a decade as EU-project manager, Martha has always been a bridge-builder between disciplines. “There is no sustainable energy transition, no Energiewende, no effective climate change mitigation, without integrating the principles of nature-based-solutions, resource efficiency and circular economy”. This resource-energy-nexus is what drives Martha and has brought her to alchemia-nova, where she supports EU-funded research projects.
