Current Projects
At this time we are involved in the following concrete projects:
1. Partners and stakeholders in the construction and running of Fruit Stones Ltd., an innovative factory that produces high value products and energy out of largely discarded stone fruit kernels (private venture). This project was awarded the highest national sustainabillity award from Austria (OGUT Environment Award 2007) and the Energy Globe Award Lower Austria 2010.
2. Major research on utilizing residues from Helianthus annus (sunflower) and creation of added value (EU-HELICAS project)
3. Participation in biorefinery projects (private and some with partial EU-funding)
4. Further research into bio-cascading of different plant sources in order to further our knowledgebase. (Ongoing private investigation of our own)
5. Investigation and PR work for degradable bio-plastics for the packaging industry and carrying bags.
6. Research and development of an innovative milk-bewerage combined with healthy (and tasty) plant extracts from purely natural sources and with unparalleled properties. (Contract work for a private company)
7. Hair care products out of biological sources and without negative implications for human health. (Contract work for a private enterprise)
8. Collaboration with the IfaS Institute in Germany on EU-Projects and college level tutoring
9. Consultation and development work for "green" media and printing technology, in comparison to a cradle to cradle print product. (Contract work for a private company)
10. Applying cradle to cradle criteria to a beacon of innovation building, a flagship project for "house of the future plus".
11. Lectures at the Austrian Marketing University of Applied Sciences in Wieselburg about green products and sustainable manufacturing
12. Developing of a biological bleaching agent for a jeans manufacturer
